About Me

My name is Polina Solomakhina and I am an aspiring 2D animator. I am a very creative and hard-working person, spending a lot of time developing my art - I never stop at my accomplishments as I am always trying to improve. I am good at animations, illustrations, comics and especially recently have been enjoying making character designs and layouts. Being bilingual and international, I try to incorporate some of my culture into my works as to share a piece of me through my art. I am very professional about my work, and in each of my projects, I try to achieve the best possible results. When working in a team, I open myself to others opinions and ideas as collaboration is the key to any creative process.

Riverside High School

I had originally studied in a Russian school, but after 8th grade, I moved to the Czech Republic to study in a British school called Riverside. There I studied for 4 years and received an IB (International Bachelor) Diploma. Aside from art, I had taken other classes mainly in the Humanities module. With both English and Russian literature, accompanied by the Psychology program, I highly improved my writing and analysation skills.

Columbia College Chicago

After graduating from high school, I decided to move to the US and found the great pick of Columbia College Chicago. I have learned and explored a lot which helped me to gain more professionalism, diving deeper into the discipline of animation. Studying abroad also helped me to develop a multicultural approach to the stories and art I make.
